Joseph Skinner, aged 26, and Francis Armitage, aged 30, found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of James Wallace Ashwell in the parish of St Botolph, Colchester on 13th February 1801: stealing therefrom 40 pairs of stockings (valued at £4), 8 pounds of soap (valued at 4/-), 3 pounds of tea (value at 8/-), 18 ink sands (value at 1/-) and 182 handkerchiefs (valued at £5).
